About Me

My photo
I'm the kind of girl that tries to get off the see-saw as it's going up and having to hold on for dear life until its down again. I'm the kind of girl who day dreams and thinks of alternate realities that seem so close but are actuality just barely beyond our reach. I'm one who doesn't dream of making a difference, I'm already in the midst of making one.

Wonderful Wednesday #2

Good evening fellow humans! So... I was chilling in my dorm and I realized I hadn't posted in awhile. Not only that, but I haven't done a W.W. in a VERY long time. So, on a whim, I decided to post one. And here... we... Go!

1. My best-friend/roommate got back into town.
She was gone last week for family things and she got home on Sunday and I'm glad she's back! I'm not all lonely in my dorm anymore.

2. I made new friends!
Friends are a magical thing and I made a couple more of them over the weekend and strengthened a few others. I feel super awesome and loved :)

3. I did some artwork.
This was on over-nighter picture I drew whilst hanging with my buddy Alex. He played W.O.W. and I drew this and got rid of a lot of bottled emotions.

4. I got bangs!
They are short and sassy like they used to be! Though with my perm they look a little funky at times... Oh well, I have spunk again! (p.s. I had pink in my hair too that I added a few weeks ago.)

5. I joined the speech and debate team...
... and I'm learning how to debate! I'm still super novice at it but at least I'm not crying when I stand up to talk. That's a plus right?

6. I got a bruised nose in my self defense class.
We are learning to take/give punches (though the taking I'm usually holding a bag) and I felt like a boss because I had just thrown a girl to the ground. Her head bounced up and hit me but it's whatever. I still threw her on the ground! I feel like a BAMF.

7. My mommy bought me supplies for my watercolor class.
She just lost everything but she wanted to support me and bought me my paints, brushes and a couple of other supplies even though she can't afford it. She's awesome!

8. I got to talk to my family on Sunday.
That's the thing we do (with my daddy and step-mom.) I call on Sunday and update them on what's going on and likewise with them. They are awesome so I can't complain too much :)

9. I got a work study position!
Yay monies! I sadly wasn't able to decorate cakes anymore (carpel tunnel) and so I'm currently looking for a job. This helps me along at least. Thanks Jessica!!!!

10. I joined a softball team.
Yep. I did. I went there. I can bat.... Sort of... And there is no hope of me throwing the ball. BUT I'M IN A SPORT!! That's certainly a massive improvement to my situation beforehand. :D

I hope all of you could find something wonderful about your past week! Remember, counting your blessings makes your challenges so much easier to bear.

Huzzah!

College Livin'.

Well my friends, I have officially started college! Today is my third day of class and Things are peachy. :) Right now I have 15.5 credit hours with a bunch of awesome classes.

Anthro-This is a no test class! Super pumped! It sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun and I'm excited to learn about us human things :).
Elementary Alg.-Basically I'm just too awesome and they needed to humble me a bit.
Forensics-SPEECH AND DEBATE!!!! WHOOOOOO! And I'm getting a work study there with them seeing as I quit my job :S
Watercolor-Yay art :) I'm so excited to be able to expand my creativity.
Theater-Basically what we are doing so far is jumping around and acting like idiots. :) It's awesome.
and last but not least!
Women's self defense-I'm going to be able to defend my butt finally! Whoo!

All of these are a lot of fun (except for math because that class hates me) and I'm really excited for this semester.

My best friend is my roommate and so that will be a massive train wreck. An awesome train wreck, but a train wreck none-the-less. I've made a lot of friends and I'm planning on making more and learning so many new things.

YAY COLLEGE!!!!

Soon to be lost friends...

So recently my mom's health hasn't been that great and so she will be moving down to Colorado to live with my grandma. BUT my grandma is allergic to animals and so I have to give up my dog George and my two kitties, Mel and Italics.

I'm really sad about this because George came into my life when I was at my lowest point and raising him helped me become a better person. He's my best friend and I don't want to give him up. Everything I'm trying to do to keep him around until I can find a pet friendly house to rent is falling through. I forgot to tell him goodbye when I moved up here and he laid, whimpering at the door waiting for me to come home according to my mom.

If he does leave permanently, I won't have a chance to say goodbye since I'm so far away. :'(

My kitties I got soon after we moved to Torrington and so they've been in my life for YEARS. It will be sad to see them go. My family is the only family they really had a chance to be with. They are about 7 now and fat and sassy and cuddly and adorable. They hid from me before I could say goodbye when I left.

I won't be able to say bye to them either.

I know I'm supposed to keep faith that things will work out for the best, but it's so hard when it feels like your world is being ripped apart. So I'm incredibly sad this week.... I would post pictures but they are all on my old phone and I don't know how to put them on the computer.

So remember! Love your furry friends! You never know when you'll see them for the last time.

P.S. If you know anyone who could take them for at most a year, until I can rent a place that accepts animals, let me know. I'm willing to pay a boarding cost and what not. I just don't want them gone forever.

UPDATE: Picture of my George.

College (Almost) Livin'

So the past few months have been fun. I got accepted to Johnson and Wales for their culinary program, only to  found out I would have to give up an arm, a leg and my first born just for my first year and so decided that wasn't the school for me. Instead, I'm currently back in Wyoming. Although it's a culture shock again, I have found a job that goes with my degree! It's a cake decorator position at the local grocery store. Shoop da whoop!

And since I live right behind Maverick (gas station) and they have cheap food, I've been celebrating all week. Today I celebrated with pistachios. You know you have a nut addiction when you're just munching along and SHA-BAM all of your pistachios are gone. Depressing, I know...

BUT! To cheer me up, I just thought of awesome horses I got to ride today. My butt wasn't as cushy as it used to be. It's incredibly sore, but it's a good kind of sore. Like when you laugh so hard you're about to puke, and you know somewhere in your heart if you puke it will totally all be worth it.

Also I kicked butt at Just Dance, and learned how to play a card game called Magic. Let the nerdiness ensue, I am prepared for your brilliance.

So that's my update! Huzzah!

P.S. I had to pee really bad before I went to bed so I go to open the bathroom door only to discover that one of my roommates had locked it. Then went to bed. With it locked. With me on the outside. About to pee my pants. For about 5 minutes I stood there looking stupidly at the door and once my bladder couldn't take it anymore, I went in search of a bobby pin. It took me all of two seconds to open that bad boy. This goes to show that I can be highly intelligent when under duress.

P.P.S. Y'all probably should never try to kidnap me. If I can be that smart under small amounts of stress, you never know what sort of fury I could release upon you.

Soooo..... I wasn't back as often as I had planned.

But I'm back for a little bit at least! One step at a time bay-bay.

So I have been reading some things I wrote a few years ago and I discovered something. I'm freaking hilarious. Sadly, I can't find them now, but if I could I would post it here so you could see the awesomeness.

I've been trying to lose weight lately because I'm on the verge of being a little roly poly. I even noticed a slight double chin today. Not good. So instead of sitting on the couch and feeling sorry for myself, I went for a run. I was doing awesome until I got the the hills in the neighborhood. Hills are evil. That are all trying to kill us slowly. But it's totally worth it. After my run I decided to look at the calories I had eaten today just for kicks to see where I was headed.

Jimmy John's Vito sub: 600 Cal.
Caribou Coffee Hot cocoa: 300 Cal.
Caribou Coffee French Toast Muffin: 490 Cal.

This was just normal meals for the day. Not including snacks. All in all, around 2000 Cal. with little exercise. I haven't even eaten dinner yet. New rule. Less carbs. It's doing less energy and more weight gainage. Need more veggies and and fruit, less oatmeal. And toast. And all those delicious breads and pastas I love so much.

Losing weight sucks. But it will be worth it when I can actually fit into my clothes again.

Operation: Penguin

So lately I've been incredibly homesick. I miss mountains and my dog among other things. So to keep myself preoccupied, I've taken up quilting. It's a lot of fun! I wish I had learned earlier! I Started a bandana quilt that was supposed to be a rag quilt, but not doing my research or a pattern, I jacked it all up. So it's going to be a normal quilt. I got fabric for an actual rag quilt though and I'm super excited!

Here's a pretty ironic story though. I find it pretty funny. My step mom has been sewing a lot lately making a quilt and as she sews she just goes right over the pins. I had always heard that you shouldn't do that because "you'll break your needle and it will fly into your eye and blind you." She went on for hours and hours and I was amazed that the needle didn't break like I was told! So the next time I sewed, I decided that I was going to sew over the pins.  It was going great! I was laughing on the inside! Until the needle hit a pin and broke. JUST MY LUCK! At least the stabby bits didn't make it to my eye.

Moral of the story: Pins are evil little suckers.

Nothing to say but talking anyways.

So I haven't been on much at all. Why? Because I don't know what to write about. Shocker I know right? I talk enough in person that I should know what to say when I sit down and type it out. Alas, this is a false assumption. So what am I going to write about this time? I still don't know. Well, actually, that's a lie. I do know, I'm just not sure how I'm going to actually say it.

When I started blogging, I was pretty much in my own little world trying to survive on Nutella, tortellini, what little human interaction I had through out the day and with a broken heart. I felt like I didn't have a voice, that I was just kind of drifting in the background of everyone's lives. And so to make my voice be heard, I started writing. I soon became obsessed with how many hits I was getting, if I had avid readers and if they liked my stuff yada, yada, yada. I was writing to be popular in the blogging world, and not for myself. I soon became discouraged and by then I had people to talk to and be weird around and I didn't need this anymore. The truth is, I love writing. I love getting feedback and ideas.

So a New Years resolution on mine is to stop caring what everyone thinks and to do stuff for me instead of for others. Oh! And also to do at least one creative thing a week :). What are your New Years resolutions?

P.S. I'll be writing again soon and it will be full of humor and pictures. Promise. :)
