About Me

My photo
I'm the kind of girl that tries to get off the see-saw as it's going up and having to hold on for dear life until its down again. I'm the kind of girl who day dreams and thinks of alternate realities that seem so close but are actuality just barely beyond our reach. I'm one who doesn't dream of making a difference, I'm already in the midst of making one.

Christmas time is here!

(If you sang along to the song from Charlie Brown Christmas, You have already heard too much Christmas music this year.)

'Tis the season again and in every store you hear the merry jingles of Christmas music. Seeing as I work in one of those jingly environments, I have probably heard way too much Christmas music than is socially acceptable. The fact that I want to stab the stereo with a toothpick until it bleeds probably isn't socially acceptable either.

Do you know what else isn't socially acceptable? Bigotry.

I was serving a customer the other day and She told me not to wish her Happy Holidays because it offended her. "It is Christmas we are celebrating and if you aren't Christian you don't deserve to celebrate." I was taken aback by this statement because A.) it contradicts the majority of Christian teachings, B.) it offended me and C.) I couldn't believe how judgemental and rude people can be.

Sure there's the people who you pass, accidentally bump and they blow up in your face; but to intentionally mock a person because they don't believe what you do? That is wrong.

I am a Christian and what I believe to be true is that Jesus said love everyone. Not just the Baptists, the Lutheran, Catholics, Mormons and other Christian churches. He said everyone. Period. Just because some one calls God Allah, doesn't make it wrong. It is still God just in another language. He had different names in The Bible, (Jehovah, God, Messiah, etc.) so how is it any different?

Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, they are all part of a culture that is sacred to someone. Maybe not you. Maybe not me. But to someone. And that should be respected and not criticized. So when I say Happy Holidays I'm recognizing the fact that everyone may not believe what I do but I respect that and accept you for who you are. I'm not trying to be offensive, just the opposite actually. (And I also add New Years into that holiday good wishes package because it just makes the whole thing easier to wish in a shorter sentence.)

This wasn't meaning to sound preachy or anything but I just wanted to put my two sense out there for you all to read.

So Happy Holidays everyone! I hope yours is as cheerful it possibly can be!

I'm mad.

I had to work Thanksgiving. It's like family values don't even exist anymore! Sure I'm thankful to have a job, but it is disgusting at how everything has become a price tag. Thanksgiving is about spending time with your family and friends eating and having a good time. Not out spending money on stuff you can get the next day.

I was wished a happy black Friday from a guy that I talk to every now and then. He didn't even mention Thanksgiving.  It makes me sick at how people think they need to buy others love.

Anywho, I'm done with my rant.

I survived the black Friday rush! 9-4. Ewwwww. So I got none of my Christmas shopping got done. I just might buy everyone zombies. It's easy enough, and they come with free shipping.

Wonderful Wednesday: #1

So I decided that I'm going to be on here more often. Now that I have a job and what not I dispense my crazy all over my co workers and I have nothing to write at the end of the day. BUT also at work, while I'm ringing up people, they ask me how I'm doing and I always say wonderful. A lot of them are shocked and say "That's good! That's a rare thing now days." And so I'm starting to do Wonderful Wednesday where I write ten things that happened this week (last Wed. to this Wed.) that were wonderful.

1:
I donated blood.
I always wear something Batman or Superman related when I do this because I'm being a super hero too.And my dad came with me so we got to be super together!

2:
I bought a candle.
This may not seem like much, but smells can trigger different things in your brain. Therefore it changes the atmosphere of my room to (in this case) fruity pebble land.

3:
I got to talk to my grandma.
I don't do this nearly often enough. She really is a wonderful lady.

4:
 I found this picture.

5:
I found a recipie I want to try.
I love baking and this happens to be a peanut butter oreo brownie recipie that I don't know if I will be able to resist.

6:
I ate Nutella.
'Nuff said.

7:
I didn't have to leave church early to go to work.
This has been a rare occurrence since I started working. I'll take that shift again in a heartbeat!

8:
I got vacation time off to go to Colorado for Christmas!
That's right! If you want to see me, let me know and we will figure something out.

9:
I watched a few episodes of Bones.
I love this show. I had a boyfriend who would call me Bones because He found out that her and I act a lot alike.
10:
I started blogging again.
'Nuff said.

I got yelled at for not being funny anymore.

So I'm going to try better to be hilarious.

We had a tornado warning today at work and I'm pretty sure I had a mini panic attack. I was standing, re-rolling ribbon and talking to myself to not panic and to relax. I'm pretty sure my co-workers thought I was going to run around or assume the fetal position, suck my thumb and call for my mommy. I calmed down after a bit but I was pretty terrified... Especially when I found out I would have to hide in the bathrooms. (Ewwwww.)

I was thinking about some short stories that I had written and remembered one that I wrote my Sophomore year in English. I'll post it somewhere and let you guys have a look-see. The premise is a girl who moves to a new town, makes a new friend, goes to a party, and then clowns ruin everything! Totally original right? You would think not... but it's quite Stephen King-esk. Here's a tip. Don't drink the juice box.

Forgive me for my slightly twisted mind. I also apologize for the jumpiness of it all... I was a sophomore for heavens sake!

Shazzam!

Ok, so the last post was a bust. THAT'S OK! I'll just figure out another way to do awesome things.

So my brother wrote me a letter the other day and I read it and I even replied within a couple of days. *gasp* It's like a trend or something.

So I'm starting to look for colleges and what not to apply to. right now the applications include, Northwest Community College, Mitchell Community College, and my brainstem (because there's a lot of awesome in there.) I've also opened a bank account. This whole growing up and becoming responsible thing kind of sucks. I'm not sure if I approve yet.

Sorry I haven't been posting much. I tend to forget once I zone out after work and watch various videos online. Please someone comment to me!!! I'll post about this hilarious conversation I had with a friend if I get 2 comments! :D The conversation was about meth and the floor. Just sayin...

I'm starting something! I need your help!

So for awhile I was making pillows and donating them to the Children's Hospital. Now that we are settled into a place I want to get back into it and I want to make it into an organization. I want to call it Pillows for Patients. If any of you want to be apart of it let me know! Whether it's a donation (fabric, thread, stuffing, money) getting a group together and having a pillow day, or whatever you want let me know! My email is jay_girl6233@live.com and put in the subject line Pillows for Patients.

Since I work at a Michael's store I see craft ideas all the time and I think it would be a fun idea to do a link party homemade gift exchange to celebrate the holidays! To participate shoot me an email with the subject line Holiday gift exchange along with your shipping address, name, and anything else you deem important. I will pair you with someone and you guys will be exchange partners. (It's like Secret Santa only cooler!) Rules are you have to make a gift and send it with in the time period. Send me an email between the dates Nov. 10-Nov. 17 and have your gift sent to your partner in time for Christmas! Also post pictures of your beautiful gifts.

May the force be with you.

My dad and I were unpacking more boxes yesterday which is usually a boring task but one box I unpacked made me extremely excited. It was a box of DVDs which was alright but it held a special treat for me. Inside the box was Indiana Jones. Four whole movies of sexiness. I'm totally having a marathon soon.

Yesterday I finished another craft project too! I'm going to use it to hang necklaces and bracelets and what not.

I'm trying to figure out stuff to make a shop with and sell. So any ideas please comment! I would love to hear from the peanut gallery.
